Nikon announced the Nikon D500, its new flagship APS-C format dSLR, at CES in January. While we covered the announcement then, we've waited until the camera has begun shipping before presenting its highlights, specifications and affiliate links.

Nikon D500. Shown with 16-80mm kit lens.

HIGHLIGHTS

Highlights of the DX-format D500 include:

  • 153-point Autofocus
  • Approximately 10 fps for up to 200 shots
  • Compact DX system benefits telephoto shooting
  • 4K UHD video
  • EXPEED 5 image-processing engine
  • ISO sensitivity up to 51,200, expandable to Hi 5
  • Touch-screen, tilting, 3.2-inch, high-resolution monitor
  • SnapBridge support

Back Panel. Note the articulated LCD.

Note that there is no pop-up flash on the D500, which was useful on previous models for triggering Nikon's Creative Lighting System.
