In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at California and the West, Photoshop CC Essential Training updated, May camera shipments from Japan and Huawei's "P9" sample image.
- In A Comprehensive Look at California and the West, Jonathan Blaustein talks to SFMOMA curator Sandra Phillips about the California and the West exhibit with a nice bit about Jim Goldberg. Image 6 in our People At SFMOMA slide show is the Goldberg installation. See also our item on Blaustein's other SFMOMA piece.
- Julieanne Kost has updated her Photoshop CC Essential Training to cover the 2015.5 release. Several are free.
- In The Shaking News from Japan, Thom Hogan looks at the May camera shipments from Japan. "Both mirrorless and DSLR shipments took a dive from both the previous month and the previous year. Moreover, it looks like the only place that had any growth at all was Asia, which implies gray market."
- Huawei P9 Leica Camera Sample Image Was Actually Shot With a $4500 Canon Kit. This is just sad. And maybe that other 's' word, too.
