In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at Tim Tadder's umbrellas, SFO Museum's search for an assistant curator of photography, an Errol Morirs film about photographer Elsa Dorfman and passing the FAA drone pilot certification test.
- In Best of Behance: Tim Tadder, Jenny Carless talks with the Southern California photographer about his Bella Umbrella project. "Bella Umbrella is a fail, really, but it's still a worthy, beautiful exercise," Tadder said.
- SFO Museum, which has 25 galleries throughout San Francisco International Airport, is looking for an Assistant Curator of Photography and Student Art to organize and curate 24 Photography and 12 Student Art exhibitions annually. From Kezar to Candlestick: The Photography of Frank Rippon was one such recent exhibit.
- Jason Kottke digs up a little information about a New Errol Morris film: The B-Side on Elsa Dorfman's portrait photography, which is done with a 20x24 camera and Polaroid film.
- Ty Poland reviews the Official Study Guide for Commercial Drone Pilot Certification From the FAA. Certification is required to fly drones commercially now and Poland, who wants a license, highlights the relevant sections of the study guide.
