Leica Camera Introduces New Limited Edition M-P Titanium Set

Exclusive titanium camera with matching lenses, only 333 sets to be made

Leica Camera is proud to announce the Leica M-P Titanium Set, the latest limited edition of the Leica M rangefinder system. This set, the fifth annual release to be made with titanium, comes with a distinctive, refined look made possible by its use of the titanium material. The Leica M-P Titanium Set consists of a Leica M-P (Typ 240) digital camera with two lenses, a Leica Summicron-M 28mm f2 ASPH. and a Leica APO-Summicron-M 50mm f2 ASPH. Only 333 Leica M-P Titanium sets will be sold worldwide.

The top plate, baseplate and controls on the Leica M-P (Typ 240) are crafted from solid titanium, making it approximately three ounces (90g) lighter than a standard production model. The M-P is also distinguished by the classic Leica script engraved on the top plate, a special edition serial number on the accessory shoe indicating the camera's position in the series, body trim in full grain leather and a leather grip with matching carrying strap.

Leica's attention to detail is apparent down to the smallest features in this limited edition set. On the lenses themselves, details like the focal length and distance in feet are engraved in red. The titanium-anodized finish of the aluminum lenses in the set perfectly matches those on the camera. Both lenses also have their own unique serial number matched to the camera body: on the retaining ring of the front element for the 28mm and on the bayonet ring for the 50mm.

The Leica M-P Titanium offers all the technical advantages of the Leica digital rangefinder system cameras with the same durability for which Leica products are renowned. Thanks to its compact size and speed, the Leica Summicron-M 28mm f2 ASPH is the ideal wide-angle lens for reportage photography, providing brilliant imaging results in even the most difficult lighting conditions. The Leica APO-Summicron-M 50mm f2 ASPH. delivers unrivalled resolution and sharpness and is considered a reference lens among standard focal lengths.

The Leica M-P Titanium Set is exclusively available in Leica Stores and Boutiques beginning October 2016.
