Amazon has launched Amazon Prints, a photo printing service for its Amazon Prime members. Prime members, who pay a $99 a year fee for expedited delivery plus video and music streaming, already enjoy free unlimited storage on Amazon Drive and can now turn images stored into prints and photo books. Cards and calendars are on the way, too.
Amazon Print offers three print sizes at the moment: 4x6 (nine cents), 5x7 (56 cents) and 8x10 ($1.79). Prints are available in a matte or glossy finish. Photobooks start at $19.99 for a hardcover with glossy paper or $44.99 for a premium lay-flat hardcover with matte paper. Standard shipping is free and orders of $15 or more earn free expedited shipping.
The process requires uploading your images to Amazon Drive, selecting your prints, customizing your order and checking out. Prime members get free unlimited storage on Amazon Drive, otherwise the service is $59.99 a year.
Amazon Prints works with S&D Print to fulfill the orders. Before you can order, you must agree to allow S&D Print to access your Amazon Drive.
