Svalt has introduced the Svalt D2 High-Performance Cooling Dock, a desktop fan mounted in an aluminum heat sink to cool laptops whose fans are laboring under high workloads in a closed configuration with an external monitor and keyboard.

In the company's CPU testing, the Svalt D2 helped to eliminate heat induced throttling and maintain maximum performance with 154 percent higher Turbo Boost speed and 21 percent higher Geekbench Score. In GPU testing, the Svalt D2 increased graphic performance with 97 percent higher graphics power and 30 percent faster frames per second performance.

HOW IT WORKS

The D2 runs in Auto mode by default, turning its fan on when temperature increases and adjusting speeds from 900 to 3600 RPM. You can activate Turbo mode for 3200 RPM of cooling power that lasts for a preset five minutes or until you turn it off.

For additional user control, the cooling system offers a number of advanced and customizable modes. Auto (-) mode sets the cooling system to lower speeds for audio priority, while Auto (+) mode sets the cooling system to higher speeds for cooling priority. Custom mode allows the selection of any fixed speed from 900 to 3600 RPM. An LED responds to user activity and visually signals cooling mode states, while the fan momentarily speeds up to provide an audio signal.

The Svalt D2 was designed for Apple Retina MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and Razer Blade laptops to run in closed-screen clamshell mode configuration to provide optimized performance with one or more high-resolution displays and improved workstation ergonomics with full sized keyboard, mouse and other workstation accessories.

PRICE, AVAILABILITY

The Svalt D2 is available for $295 directly from Svalt.

Svalt announces worldwide availability of the Svalt D2 High-Performance Cooling Dock

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Turbo charge your laptop with the Svalt D2 High-Performance Cooling Dock. Housed in a massive aluminum heat sink, the Svalt D2's powerful desktop sized fan drives cooling air directly onto laptop processors to help overcome heat induced throttling and maintain peak performance while under heavy and sustained workloads. The Svalt D2 uses a laptop temperature sensor and automatic speed control to provide simple set-it-and-forget-it operation that intelligently delivers silent to overwhelming cooling power over the course of the workday.

The Svalt D2 High-Performance Cooling Dock helps professionals and creatives get work done without a laptop meltdown. Instead of dealing with multiple computers, many designers, photographers, videographers, 3D/VR modelers, gamers, researchers, advertisers and other professionals rely on a laptop for high-demand applications, however, the laptop's small built-in cooling systems can fail to keep up, causing internal fans to run at max, allowing heat to build up throughout the system, potentially degrading component reliability, inducing processor throttling and losing performance capabilities. This heat melt down usually occurs at the office when running the laptop like a desktop computer, where the improved ergonomics of one or more high-resolution displays and full size keyboard and mouse can help maintain productivity, which is why the Svalt D2 has been designed to transform the laptop into a desktop workstation for maximum productivity where you need it most, at the office.

Design

Svalt is driven by a desire to create luxurious performance accessories that belong as much in the fashion, art and high-end furnishings markets as they belong in the consumer electronics market. The Svalt D2 was created to not only provide useful features and best-in-class solutions for professionals, but to create an elegant office workstation furnishing that has been precision-crafted from solid aluminum in Portland, Ore. to elevate and prominently display Apple and other premium laptops.

Performance

Svalt's controlled tests explore and demonstrate peak performance capabilities for high-demand applications. In CPU testing the Svalt D2 helped to eliminate heat induced throttling and maintain maximum performance with 154 percent higher Turbo Boost speed and 21 percent higher Geekbench Score, while in GPU testing the Svalt D2 increased graphic performance with 97 percent higher graphics power and 30 percent faster frames per second performance.

Operation

The Svalt D2 cooling system runs in Auto mode by default, with fan speeds automatically adjust from 900 to 3600 RPM based on laptop temperatures and when temperatures are low enough the fan stops until temperatures increase. At any time, Turbo mode can be activated for an immediate blast of 3200 RPM cooling power that lasts for a preset five minutes or until manually deactivated. A LED responds to user activity and visually signals cooling mode states, while the fan momentarily speeds up to provide an audio signal.

Compatibility

The Svalt D2 is the only Apple laptop accessory of its kind designed to improve performance without requiring any laptop modifications. The Svalt D2's compact clamshell dock creates a more open desktop workspace and allows for quick transitions between desktop to mobile use. An adjustable laptop retention pad helps to accommodate a wide range of compatible devices, such as clamshell laptops, convertible touch-screen laptops, tablets, devices with or without thin protective cases and offers the flexibility to support future models and devices. The pad design allows the laptop to stay docked during the power-on process to avoid accidental cable disconnection or a laptop drop.

Pricing and Availability

The Svalt D2 is available to purchase immediately through Svalt starting at $295. Corporate & wholesale pricing available, dealer and distributor inquiries welcome.
