In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at Himalayan landscapes, Maria Pallante's ouster, Peter Fox's F1 Mercedes photo and reverse image searching.
- New Delhi-based photojournalist Amit Verma presents Sixteen Images of Beautiful Himalayan Landscapes taken with a Leica M (Type 262). "The sheer joy of using a complete manual camera was indescribable," he writes. "It was like I am in a different zone."
- In Maria Pallante Out as U.S. Register of Copyrights, Variety reports Pallante is moving to a new post and Karyn Temple Claggett would serve as acting register of copyrights. Or as Artist Rights Watch put it, Google Fires Head of U.S. Copyright Office.
- In Analysis: The story behind the photograph that got F1 talking, Jonathan Noble tells the story of how Formula 1 photographer Peter Fox captured an image that showed the forces working on a Mercedes taking a curve.
- Reverse Image Search lets you enter a URL or upload an image to find similar images using search engines at Google, Bing and Yandez.
