In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at Sharbat Gula, election protests, the New York City Marathon and a Lightroom update.
- The world may have forgotten about her plight already but Afghanistan hasn't. In Sharbat Gula, Famed 'Afghan Girl,' Is Welcomed Back to Afghanistan, the world's most famous refugee is returned to a country she hasn't seen in a generation and her children have never known.
- In 'Not My President': Thousands March in Protest, Alan Taylor presents 36 photos of the election protests sweeping the country. Kirk Tuck describes covering the protests in Austin, Tex., with a Sony RX10 Mark III in Impromptu coverage of a political protest.
- Joe McNally captures the New York City Marathon for ESPN in Runners from the Air. One of the more interesting images is McNally's gear laid out on the floor, which included three Nikon D5s, a D810 and KeyMission 360 and lenses with focal lengths from 16mm to 600mm.
- Adobe did update the Android and Web versions of Lightroom this week. Terry White did a video of the new features.
More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
