In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at Supermoon 2016, DxO One 2.1, mail-in rebates and recreating images of 40 years ago.

  • Alan Taylor presents 21 photos of the Supermoon 2016 from last night and today. According to the Photographer's Ephemeris we've got until 5:39 p.m. before the show begins here in the Oakland Hills.
  • In Impressive Mobile Raw Workflow with DxO One 2.1, Derrick Story gives the last week's firmware update a run using an iPhone 5S and 6S.
  • Nikon Isn’t the Only One Doing Deja Vu, Thom Hogan suggests when he finds a new mail-in rebate offer from Canon. Why? Because a lot of them aren't claimed, aren't claimed correctly, push payment out and, when paid with a pre-loaded credit card, push payment even further out.
  • Paramedic Chris Porsz walked the streets of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire in Great Britain during the late '70s and '80s taking candids of "punks and policemen, siblings and sweethearts, traders and teenagers." He spent the last seven years tracking down the people in his pictures and persuading them to pose once again for his new book Reunions.

More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
