In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at call center workers, your mirrorless options, the Capitol Dome restored, troubleshooting browser malware and a BorrowLenses discount.

  • In What You Won't See When Talking to a Call Center Worker, David Gonzalez presents 22 images from José Sarmento Matos' project documenting their lives. "I wanted to do something to humanize these people we speak with, not anything about bad job conditions," he said.
  • Thom Hogan's End of Year Mirrorless Status not only sums up this year's offerings but makes recommendations in five categories just in time for Black Friday next week. But Kirk Tuck's Hindsight. 20/20. Still... looks the other way: at the gear he's gotten rid of that he misses. His advice: "If you love the feel of the camera and the trade in value sucks just keep the darn thing."
  • Alan Taylor presents 33 photos of The Restoration of the United States Capitol Dome. They reveal both the corrosion and the repair in great detail. And they include some historical shots of the original construction of the dome, too.
  • Jason Snell was Troubleshooting Some Nasty Safari Malware for his sister when he came across a very simple solution: get off the network and then launch the browser to kill a remote home page set by malware.
  • BorrowLenses is offering Super Early Black Friday Savings of 20 percent off all orders plus two days free through Nov. 28 when you use the code BF2016.

More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
