In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at camera recommendations, Hobby's next free lighting course, greeting cards in Apple Photos and John Morris.
- Mike Johnston has posted Part I of The Best Digital Cameras while Kirk Tuck waxes poetic about the Sony RX10 Mark III, which did not make Part I of Johnston's intriguing list.
- Strobist David Hobby has announced his free Lighting 103 Starts in January with bi-weekly posts. The topic? Color. "Our flashes spit out clean, white light. But that white light exists almost nowhere else," he writes. Hobby also announced the schedule for his Strobist Location Workshops in 2017.
- In How to create custom greeting cards in Photos for Mac, Lesa Snider has fun making her own cards
- Tomorrow John Morris turns 100. In As He Turns 100, John Morris Recalls a Century in Photojournalism, James Estrin calls him "one of the most important editors in the history of photography." No better time than now to make your acquaintance with the man who edited Robert Capa's D-Day landing photos.
