Adobe has released updates to Lightroom CC, Lightroom for iOS and Camera Raw this morning. In addition to new features in both versions of Lightroom, the updates provide Raw file support for new cameras, new lens profiles, performance improvements and bug fixes.

LIGHTROOM CC

Lightroom CC 2015.8 introduces:

  • Reference View helps compare the settings of two images displayed side by side in the Develop Module. Set any image as a reference image and use its settings to guide your edits of the active image.
  • Performance Improvments include "image editing responsiveness when background tasks (such as Preview Generation) are running, moving files between folders, running catalog backups."
  • Fit/Fill Improvements include zooming to fit and zoom to fill, which did not always cover 4K and 5K monitors.
  • Additional Features include the ability to filter or create a Smart Collection for images that have Snapshots associated with them and you can now Export a Collection Set as a new catalog.

A number of customer reported issues, including memory leaks, were also resolved.

LIGHTROOM MOBILE

The Lightroom for iOS 2.6 update features:

  • New Edit Interface: The new interface represents a significant reimagining of editing on mobile devices to make it easier "to find and access tools and quickly enhance and edit images from your iPhone."
  • New Info Section: With this update, Adobe built ways of expanding the interface so that additional groups of functionality (like entering titles, captions and copyright) could be added.
  • New Capture Interface and Professional Mode: The new capture interface, similar to the Android interface, grants access to a new professional mode that provides control over all aspects of your camera's exposure and focus.

CAMERA RAW

Camera Raw 9.8 includes additional camera Raw support, lens profile support and bug fixes.

Tethered support has been added for the Cano 5D Mark IV. New lens profiles are available for Apple, Canon, Google, Leica, Nikon, Ricoh, Samsung and Sigma optics.

A few customer reported issues have also been resolved:

  • Released a new set of Camera Matching Profiles for Canon 5D Mark IV that resembles past cameras of the same generation
