17 March 2017

We're not sure why St. Patrick's Day isn't a national holiday but having slaved away all morning to bring you the news (with more slaving slated for this afternoon), we bemoan the decision.

Dublin. All lit up on St. Patrick's Day.

Green is the color of the day, the channel (in the RGB scheme of things) with all the detail as it were. But we have no idea how it trumped the rest of the rainbow. We suspect it had to do with some sort of promise of a pot at the other end.

We have some evidence that the pot was not green.

Expedition 50 Commander Shane Kimbrough of NASA shared this shot by Thomas Pesquet (aka Thom Astro) on the Space Station of Dublin as it looked tonight (it's dark there already). We've cropped the image modestly to focus on downtown Dublin where the lights were still on.

As you can see, there's no green. Just gold.
