Mac Creative Cloud Update Hogs CPU Share This on LinkedIn   Share This on Google   Tweet This   Forward This

On Ric Ford's Macintosh today, contributor Christopher Moss reports a Creative Cloud 4.0.0.185 update "is hogging the CPU with 100-200 percent usage and fans going full blast."

After doing the usual uninstall/reinstall dance, the problem returned after a restart. He sent log files to an Adobe engineer who subsequently sent him two binary files which fixed the problem "which appears to have been linked to CC trying to send OS notifications."

Lacking the binaries, Moss suggests visiting the Creative Cloud application's preferences settings to disable the five Show OS Notifications.

We haven't experienced the problem because we're still on version 3.9.5.353, the latest show in the app's release notes, which suggests the update has been pulled.
