Nikon Ambassador Matthew Jordan Smith has announced he will be traveling to 26 cities in the U.S. Canada and Europe to present his all-day workshop on professional photography.

CURRICULUM

The workshop curriculum includes:

  • You've Got the Power
  • Lighting Your Subject with Confidence
  • Beyond the Gear: Getting the Shot
  • Getting the Perfect Color
  • Editing and Retouching Tips and Tricks
  • The Secret to Making More Money in Photography

According to Next Level Photography and Lighting, which is partnering with Smith, active participation is part of the course:

You will be on your feet for most of the day assisting and interacting with Matthew as he takes you through realistic shooting demonstrations showing you how he gets the amazing imagery that keeps the hottest celebrities and biggest brands coming back time and time again.

Each workshop attendee also receives hundreds of dollars in giveaways plus prize drawings from workshop sponsors, according to Next Level.

VENUES

U.S. venues include Orange County, Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, Columbus, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, New York City, Boston, Charlotte, Atlanta, Nashville, Orlando, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Phoenix, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Canadian venues include Vancouver and Toronto. European venues include London and Amsterdam.

The workshops run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during April through June. Tuition varies from $199 to $219 depending on the city.

SMITH

Smith bounces between Tokyo and New York City photographing celebrities like Angela Bassett, Tyra Banks, Queen Latifah and Aretha Franklin among others. His client list includes Olay, Pantene, Revlon, Sony Entertainment, HBO and Showtime.

Smith launched his career as a photographer in New York City shooting for major magazines and advertising agencies. He has published his third book, Future American President; 50 States, 100 Families, Infinite Dreams featuring portraits of children from 100 families in every state of the union.

Smith has taught at the School of Visual Arts and the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops in New Mexico.
