DNP Updates Windows Printing Utilities

DNP has released free updates to two of its printing utilities for Windows. Hot Folder Print Utility has been updated to v2.3 and PrinterInfo to 1.2.1.1.
"We are always striving to improve the functionality of our software platforms to complement our award-winning dye-sublimation printer technology," said Katsuyuki Oshima, DNP IAM president. "With the introduction of our updated utility applications, our photo printers are now easier to operate and provide greater value for a wide range of photography solutions, from on-site event workflows and photo booths to ride photo systems for amusement parks."
HIGHLIGHTS
Highlights of the updates follow:
- Hot Folder Print Utility version 2.3 adds more flexible color profile assignments, increased reliability when using multiple printers and improved handling of low media situations when printing panoramic photos.
- PrinterInfo version 1.2.1.1 provides detailed status information including the size of media loaded in each printer, the amount of media remaining in each printer and the printer life counter.
MacOS users can easily emulate the hot folder function by attaching a Folder Action to a watched folder using Automator to print to their DNP printer. See Creating A Party Printing Folder for details.

Similarly, macOS users can get DNP printer information from their System Preferences where the Printers & Scanners panel lists installed printers. Select the DNP printer and click on the

DNP Announces Hot Folder Print Utility Software and PrinterInfo Application Updates
CONCORD, N.C. -- DNP Imagingcomm America Corp. today announced the availability of two new technical software updates: the Hot Folder Print Utility v2.3 and the PrinterInfo 1.2.1.1.
DNP's Hot Folder Print Utility is a free, easy-to-use utility that enables printing on DNP's dye-sublimation printers. Improvements in version 2.3 include more flexible color profile assignment, increased reliability when using multiple printers and improved handling of low media situations when printing panoramic photos.

In addition to launching the HFP Utility update, DNP also released an update for the PrinterInfo status and reporting application. The PrinterInfo application is a standalone status tool that is used to pull and report data from DNP printing systems. The PrinterInfo application provides detailed status information including the size of media loaded in each printer, the amount of media remaining in each printer and the printer life counter.
