In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at trees, the 2018 Pirelli Calendar, Lightroom Web, older lenses and a Clip update.
- Alan Taylor presents 35 photos of beautiful (and unusual) trees and forests around the world in A Walk in the Woods: A Photo Appreciation of Trees.
- In What the 2018 Pirelli Calendar Says About Race, Elizabeth Paton looks at the latest version of this collector's item, "a reimagining of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll, with an all-black celebrity cast photographed by Tim Walker." There's also a nice review of the more recent editions.
- Julieanne Kost lists 10 videos that together make up a Lightroom Web Getting Started Series. Browser access to your synchronized Lightroom assets is great -- until you don't sync the asset. Then the temporary URL created by Lightroom Web goes nowhere. Just so you know.
- Kirk Tuck decides to show rather than tell what he loves about Some Older Lenses. They were shot with a Panasonic G85 camera and a 60mm f1.5 and 40mm f1.4 lens at a Zach rehearsal of Million Dollar Quartet.
- Apple's Clips now features Disney and Pixar Characters. The free update includes "dozens of new graphic overlays and posters, plus usability improvements to make it even easier to turn video clips and photos into fun, expressive videos on iPhone and iPad."
