In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Sebastian Hidalgo, the Olympus ZD 17mm f1.2 Pro, using an iPad for photography, Apple Photos' selective color tool, an E Mount lens database and KodakOne.
- In A Photographer Captures His Community in a Changing Chicago Barrio, Evelyn Nieves profiles Sebastian Hidalgo who received a fellowship to document Pilsen, an old Chicago neighborhood.
- Robin Wong adds an addendum to his Olympus 17mm review with Street Photography With the Olympus ZD 17mm f1.2 Pro. The shots were omitted from the review because of inclement weather. "Lighting is crucial for all photography and with cloudy weather I would have had flat, uninteresting and dull looking images," he writes. But when the weather cleared, he got the shots.
- In Using an iPad for Photography Workflows, Marius Masalar tackles the subject in eight short chapters.
- In The Powerful Selective Color Tool in Photos for macOS, Derrick Story demonstrates how to change one color into another with a free video from his Essential Training series on LinkedIn Learning.
- PhotonArmy has published an E Mount Lens Database for Sony FE, E and NEX lenses.
- In KodakOne and the Zombie Myth, Greenberg and Reznicki put the KodakOne announcement in perspective. "OK, so now KodakOne announces they are doing a Blockchain copyright that "registers" and protects your copyright. Folks, this means as much legally as putting your laptop in an envelope and mailing it to yourself."
