In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Mars, Yosemite, Helen Levitt, a Lightroom book and Rocky Nook's sale page.
- Spend 2,000 Days on Mars With the Curiosity Rover in just a few minute, courtesy of Alan Taylor's curation of 24 intimate images of the Martian landscape.
- In Couple's 100-Year-Old Yosemite Photos Show Park's Timeless Beauty, Graph Massara presents a selection of the William M. McCarthy Photograph Collection.
- In Discreet Portraits of People on the New York City Subway in the '70s, Miss Rosen displays a set of Helen Levitt's images from the 2017 book Manhattan Transit: The Subway Photographs of Helen Levitt. "We see the sourpuss, the lonely and ignored, the judgmental, the pensive and the tired. They could be us; we could be them," she writes.
- The Lightroom Queen Victoria Bampton has updated her missing FAQ on Adobe Lightroom Classic CC, available in print or as an eBook. "Unlike most other Lightroom books," she writes, "this isn't just the theory of how Lightroom's supposed to work, but also the workarounds and solutions for the times when it doesn't behave the way you'd expect."
- Rocky Nook, the guys who publish photography books, have published a Sale page with 12 titles (one's a duplicate) so far.
More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
