Ricoh Releases Four SDKs For Pentax Cameras

Ricoh has released four software development kits for Pentax dSLRs to enable third-party applications to remotely control the cameras using smartphones or computers.
The SDKs are customized for Microsoft's .NET framework, C++, Android and iOS. Supported cameras include (with some restrictions) the Pentax 645Z, K-1 Mark II, K1, KP and K-70.
Using a kit's code, application can operate the cameras remotely, sending Live View images to external monitors. Multiple cameras can be simultaneously controlled, as well.
The SDKs are a free download but the company will not provide technical support, it said.

TOKYO -- Ricoh has announced the release of four software development kits, designed for the remote operation of Pentax-brand dSLR cameras using smartphones and personal computers.
Based on these kits, users can develop software or applications that enable them to operate their cameras from a distance and then output captured Live View images to external monitors. They also allow for the simultaneous control of multiple cameras, making it easier to develop systems using digital cameras for various industrial fields.

- Ricoh Camera USB SDK for Microsoft .NET Framework
- Ricoh Camera USB SDK for C++
- Ricoh Camera Wireless SDK for iOS
- Ricoh Camera Wireless SDK for Android

- Pentax 645Z *
- Pentax K-1 Mark II
- Pentax K-1
- Pentax KP
- Pentax K-70 **

- Choice of USB or Wireless connection, in combination with compatible Pentax-brand dSLR cameras.

Access the dedicated Web site, available in English only, to download the SDKs.
SKDs can be downloaded free of charge; however, Ricoh CO., LTD. will not provide any additional technical support.
