Using fluorite lens elements and magnesium alloy components, Sony has introduced the lightest telephoto prime in its class, the FE 400mm F2.8 GM OSS. At 6.4 pounds, it features Sony's XD Linear Motor autofocus system to quickly adn quietly tracks subjects across the frame while shooting at high speeds and Optical SteadyShot that can combine with in-body stabilization to provide 5-axis stabilization.
Power focus provides smooth and even focus in Movie mode. And the magnesium-alloy body is weather sealed to protect against dirt, dust and moisture. The tripod collar can be rotated around the lens as well.
And if 400mm doesn't et you there, the telephoto is compatible with Sony's 1.5x and 2.0x teleconverters.

Sony said the FE 400mm F2.8 GM OSS will ship in September for about $12,000. A drop-in circular polarizing filter (model VF-DCPL1) will ship in December for about $400.
