In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at testing lenses, SmallRig camera plates, architectural photography, a photo quiz and a lighting kit give-away.
- Roger Cicala has been Developing a Rapid MTF Test for Photo and Video Lenses. Which also explains where he's been all year. He and a cohort have written, tested and debugged 200 automation scripts, one for each lens (and each mount of that lens). Sound insane? Sure, but revenge is sweet.
- Jim Kasson reviews the Sony a7III, a9, a7RIII SmallRig Camera Plate, comparing them to Really Right Stuff's more expensive versions. He likes them.
- Jasenka Grujin suggests Six Tips to Improve Your Architectural Photography, all good ones.
- Anyone who watches our Saturday Matinees should get the first question of Jon Sienkiewicz's Tough Photo Quiz for Hardcore Camera Nuts Only. After that it gets easier.
- Scott Kelby is giving away a $2,800 Profoto B1X Lighting Kit on July 30. But you'll have to enter to win it.
More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
