In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Prague 50 years ago, Josef Koudelka, Photoshop Guides, a free Photoshop action set, cats and ON1's summer bundle.
- It's been 50 Years Since a Soviet Invasion Ended the Prague Spring. Over 70 civilians were killed in the conflict, Alan Taylor reminds us with 27 photos.
- In Koudelka's Prague, Fifty Years Later, Melissa Harris interviews Josef Koudelka, one of the first photographers on the scene, about the events of that year. "Czechoslovakia had been a country where nothing was possible and suddenly, at that time, everything was possible and everything was changing very quickly," he says.
- Julieanne Kost continues her 3, 2, 1, Photoshop! series with Tips for Working With Guides+:
- Charles Purdy shares Blacknull's Modern Artist Action Set, a free download for Adobe Photoshop CC. The action relies on the Oil Paint filter, which requires a compatible GPU, however.
- Writers and Their Cats by Alison Nastasi collects images from various sources of 45 well-known authors and their cats.
- ON1 is offering a Summer Photography Bundle for $49.99 that includes ON1 Photo Raw 2018.5, 25 cinematic color grading LUTs and a set of video courses covering masking and blending, HDR and Panorama Stitching.
