- Brie Barbee explains How to Hide Photos on Your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch using Photos and, for more security, third-party apps.
- iToolBox is a free macOS 10.11+ image editing application for Raw, PNG and JPEG files. "It offers an extensive layering system of my own design with some interesting features like non-destructive geometric warp layers," the author says.
- Ryan Robinson has published How to Calculate Your Freelance Hourly Rate, an infographic that steps you through the math to derive an hourly rate. Both the self-employment tax and $4,800 in healthcare costs are included, making up nearly half of the new expenses freelancing involves.
- In People Are Strange, Steve Huff reflects on 11 years of covering the digital photography world with non-technical gear reviews. He's talking about other people, of course. But, after a week of new product announcements from Leica, Nikon and Panasonic, his advice is worth repeating. "My words of advice? Enjoy your camera. Use it," he writes. And today would be a good day to practice that advice, too.
