In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at female MPs, Greenland, the Polaroid film factory, card errors, SD Express vs. CFexpress and every single available film stock.
- In Female MPs by Female Photographers -- the 209 Women Project, Diane Smyth takes a look at the project "in which 209 photographers are taking portraits of the 209 women MPs in the UK parliament." 2018 marks 100 years since UK women got the vote and the first female MP was elected.
- In Studying Greenland's Ice to Understand Climate Change, Reuters photographer Lucas Jackson photographs NASA scientists measuring Greenland's ice melt.
- Guardian photographer Christian Sinibaldi tours the world's last Polaroid film factory in the Netherlands in Polaroid's Past, Present and Future. The factory also refurbishes Polaroid cameras.
- In What Causes Card Errors? Thom Hogan suggests, "It may come as a surprise, perhaps, but there's a lot we have to talk about here." We second the practice of not sharing media between cameras.
- In SD Express: A Comparison to CFexpress, ProGrade Digital explains the difference between the two new standards. "The great news about both new card types is that host device makers and consumers gain a wide choice of high performance storage options," the report notes.
- Emulsive concludes its 7-part feature with Every Single Film Stock Still Made Today with an A to Z (well, Y) directory.
