In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Jason DeMarte, Felicia Honkasalo, Alexander Bronfer and Marta Kulesza.
- In The Art of the Unnatural, Brendan Seibel talks to Jason DeMarte about applying his product photography skills to the natural world. That has led to creating a flower garden with bird feeders and an insect farm in the garage.
- Marigold Warner explores Felicia Honkasalo's Portrait of Her Late Grandfather. But wait, it's trickier than it sounds. The Finnish photographer used her grandfather's objects and documents to create a photographic biography of a man she never met.
- In Compelling Images of Tourists Wallowing in the Dead Sea, Stephanie Wade presents the latest images from Israeli photographer Alexander Bronfer's salty series Sodom.
- In Via Ferrata Marino Bianchi to the Summit of Cristallo Di Mezzo, Marta Kulesza does the 6-7 hours of hiking for you. "From start to finish the views don't disappoint, but your calves will burn every step of the way!" the Polish photographer writes.
