In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Martin Parr, testing ACR's Enhance Details, five iOS camera apps, Birmingham discount tickets, PhotoShelter discount, 500px statement and a copyright rule.
- Laurence Butet-Roch presents a wide-ranging selection of the photographer's images in Martin Parr: 48 Years of Photographing the Quirky and Kitschy in Manchester.
- Jim Kasson tests Adobe Camera Raw 11.2 'Enhance Details'. "I don't know how Adobe is doing this, but this could really be a help in some situations," he writes.
- Juli Clover briefly describes Five of the Best Camera Apps on iOS. We have the free ones but we find ourselves deferring to Camera, the stock iOS camera app.
- Joe McNally will be presenting at The Photography Show -- Birmingham. And he just happens to have a discount code for tickets to the U.K. extravaganza.
- PhotoShelter is offering a 30 percent discount on Standard and Pro accounts when you use the promo code FEB2019 through Feb 15.
- 500px has issued Security Issue February 2019: FAQ to address security concerns after "an unauthorized party gained access to our systems and acquired partial user data on approximately July 5, 2018." All account passwords have been reset.
- In U.S. Copyright Office Issues Final Rule Establishing Group Registration for Unpublished Works Carolyn Wright reports, "This new rule will allow copyright owners to register up to 10 unpublished works for a single filing fee, provided each work has the same author and claimant and is the same administrative class."
