In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at jellyfish, Dennis Stock, Peak Design's revised Everyday Backpack, Hogan's buying advice and products introduced this autumn.
- The Guardian has published a few images from A World Atlas of Jellyfish, a new title that presents over 260 species in both photographs and illustrations with details on collection, cultivation and distribution maps.
- Miss Rosen presents a few images from Dennis Stock's Mesmerizing Portrait of 1960s California. The Magnum photographer's 1970 title, California Trip is now back in print in a 112-page facsimile edition from Anthology Editions.
- Peak Design has redesigned its rigid Everyday Backpack to provide more durability and a bit more flexibility inside with mini-pockets for smaller items:
- Thom Hogan has some advice about How to Buy during the holiday season. And he reminds us that "Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic and Sony will all be introducing new products soon, possible less than 45 days away." That's a holiday tradition, too.
- The LensRentals staff has curated The Biggest Photography and Videography Announcements for Fall 2019.
More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
