7 January 2020

Wacom has unveiled its Wacom One, an affordable 13-inch display with a pen interface compatible with Android, macOS and Windows. While a pen is included, the tablet is also compatible with pens from Staedtler and Lamy, among others.

"Whether drawing, editing images or developing and communicating ideas, Wacom One offers all the essentials to put beginning creatives and creators on a path toward discovering the joy of creating directly on screen," said Faik Karaoglu, executive vice president of Wacom's Creative Business Unit.

"The product's features, bundled software options and attractive price will allow a new wave of digital artists, makers, social media content creators, photographers, students, educators and business people to express themselves artistically and make the world a more creative place."

Pressure-sensitive pen technology is especially helpful in photo retouching. Presumably, applications like Photoshop that support pressure sensitive editing, will be able to take advantage of this tablet with direct-drawing capability.

  • 11.6x6.5-inch active area
  • 13.3-inch, anti-glare, 1920x1080 Full HD display
  • 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity
  • 72 percent NTSC (CIE1931) color gamut
  • Retractable legs
  • Natural surface friction feels like drawing on paper, not glass
  • Electro Magnetic Resonance pen technology does not require a pen battery or recharge

In addition, the Wacom One comes with a software bundle that includes a six-month subscription of Clip Studio Paint Pro from Celsys and Wacom's own Bamboo Paper sketching app.

Digital pens from Staedtler and Lamy are among the compatible pens which can be used seamlessly on the display. A Wacom One pen is included.

Wacom One -- A World of New Possibilities

New creative pen display inspires creative beginners, social content creators and visual thinkers with pen-on-screen sketching, drawing and annotating. macOS, Windows and Android compatibility, new creative software bundles and third-party pen support offer a diverse ecosystem.

LAS VEGAS -- At the Consumer Electronics Show, Wacom has announced Wacom One, an economical 13-inch pen display for a new generation of creators. Beginning artists wanting to work with digital media, visual thinkers who combine handwritten and drawn communication in their daily activities and social media content creators needing to artistically enhance photos or video to develop engaging posts can all benefit from Wacom One.

The product also provides an affordable and attractive option for entry-level tablet shoppers who would like to work directly on screen. Because it connects with Mac, Windows and compatible Android operating systems, Wacom One allows users to upgrade their existing computer and phone to a pen-enabled configuration, opening it up to all the new pen related features in Microsoft Office as well as other software applications, especially those built for creativity.

Wacom's longstanding relations with leading manufacturers of stationary and mobile devices provides compatibility with several pens from leading manufacturers, giving users a choice of their favorite brand and style of pen for drawing and writing. New digital pens from Lamy, Samsung and Staedtler are just a few which can seamlessly be used on the new Wacom One display.

Expected to hit stores in the U.S. and Canada in January with a MSRP of $399.95, Wacom One draws on the company's 35 years of experience building high-end creative pen displays for professional creators of digital content to deliver an accurate and natural pen experience for a wide range of new users.

Wacom One's pressure-sensitive pen delivers accurate and precise pen and brush strokes and its EMR (Electro Magnetic Resonance) pen technology does not require a pen battery or recharge, ever. The 1920x1080 full HD display offers 72 percent NTSC color and anti-glare treated film. The new model's attractive, compact design makes it easy to incorporate into virtually any workspace and the foldable legs lets one find the ideal working position. Wacom One purchase entitles users to an inspirational software bundle, including a copy of Clip Studio Paint Pro from Celsys, with up to six months of free use. Clip Studio Paint is a powerful, easy-to-use drawing application useful for comics, manga and a range of visual mediums. Wacom's Bamboo Paper, also included, is an ideal application for note-taking and sketching. Additionally, users will appreciate all the pen enabled features found within the Windows 10 and Mac operating systems.

Wacom One will be available in January on the Wacom eStore, Amazon.com, select Best Buy locations and other authorized Wacom partners.
