In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at the golden hour for phones, flowers at home, creativity, freelancers and self-employed photographers, DNG Converter and Adorama's deal of the day.
- Kate Wesson offers Eight Tips for Golden Hour Landscape Photography on iPhone. That would include those impossible sunsets, BTW. The trick to which involves letting the light level drop to something the phone can handle. That might be waiting for dusk or a tree or clouds to block the sun.
- Harold Davis, as you might expect, has been spending the quarantine Photographing Flowers at Home. In bunches.
- In Inspiration and Creativity in Times of Crisis, Ming Thein explores three paths through the day. "Boredom only exists if we allow it. Creativity is a solution around constraints," he writes.
- In How Covid-19 Is Affecting the Photo & Video Industry, LensRentals addresses "the economic challenges faced by many freelance and self-employed photographers and videographers." The data is based on its April month survey, the first in a series. Over 1,000 professional photographers and videographers responded.
- Adobe has updated DNG Converter to version 12.1.1.
- Adorama has started a Deal of the Day which changes at 10 a.m. ET every day.
More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
