In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at people at work, Eric Newby, Keukenhof without people, #PhotographersforBiden, the Raspberry Pi's new camera and Toshiba's SMR hard drive list.
- Alan Taylor presents portraits of people Hard at Work, Despite the Pandemic taken by photojournalists around the world working for the news agency Agence France-Presse.
- In Eric Newby's Travels in Pictures, The Guardian presents a selection of image from the new virtual exhibition What the Traveller Saw, the first by the Royal Geographical Society.
- Albert Dros has posted his photos of The Most Beautiful Flower Garden in the World, Without People. He shot them in Keukenhof in collaboration with the garden, which is closed for the first time in 71 years. "Interestingly enough, we have experienced the sunniest April ever in the Netherlands, making all the flowers pop very fast," he writes.
- Feature Shoot has launched #PhotographersforBiden and #ArtistsforBiden "to dig deeper into the issues affecting American artists during this unprecedented time." The site has posted a Photographers for Biden form to join the project.
- Wayne Williams reports Raspberry Pi Gains a New 12.3-Megapixel Camera and Interchangeable Lenses. The $50 camera is compatible with every model from the Pi 1 Model B up with the exception of early Pi Zero boards. Lenses range from a $25 6mm CS‑mount lens at, to a $50 16mm C-mount lens.
- Following WD, Toshiba has now listed its hard drives using Shingled Magnetic Recording.
