Sony has been exhibiting entries to its 2020 World Photography Awards contest on a weekly schedule that began April 23 and will conclude on June 14. Each week, the shortlist and finalists in a specific category are showcased with short videos of their work on a page linked from the Sony World Photography Awards on Screen page.

Along with the shortlisted and winning photographs from the Professional, Open, Student and Youth competitions, Sony will be presenting projects by the Sony Professional and Student Grant recipients plus winning and shortlisted series from the Zeiss Photography Award 2020. Winning images from the Alpha Female Award and the Latin America Professional Award are also on show, both new initiatives for the 2020 Awards.

The competition provides a platform to help established photographers take the next step in their career and promotes undiscovered talent as well. "Our aim is to give photographers that enrich and push the medium forward the global exposure they deserve," the company notes on its site.
