Shortlist may not be quite the right word for the 200 final candidates for the British Journal of Photography's Portrait of Humanity contest announced today by the British Journal of Photography. But the photographers represented on the 23 pages of the Portrait of Humanity 2020 Shortlist are all worth a look.
Presented by 1854 Media, the publisher of British Journal of Photography, the global photography award was conceived to show that "across oceans and borders, there is more that unites us than sets us apart."
"Inspired by themes of individuality, community and unity, the 200 shortlisted images harness the power of photography to showcase the many faces of humanity, and the everyday moments that bind us together," the company said.
Thirty winning images and three winning series are set to be announced in September.
