In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at 84 photographers, Clemens Ascher, portrait backgrounds and stock photography.

  • Grace Ebert tells the story of Eighty-Four Photographers who got together to raise money for greater Chicago food depository.
  • Suzanne Sease showcase the work of Clemens Ascher. Ascher graduated from the Miami Ad School Europe in Hamburg, where he completed his qualifications as an art director and commercial photographer. After graduation, he worked as a photography assistant in Hamburg before launching a freelance photographer career in 2008. Since then he has participated in several group and solo shows in Austria and works for international clients.
  • Miguel Quiles talks about backgrounds for studio portrait photography, including the best portable options in this 7:30 video:
  • Great Escape Publishing has published its first annual Stock Photography Index. "We put together this index of agencies as a way to help anyone who's interested in selling their photos online make sense of a vast, digital landscape," Great Escape's Bonnie Caton said. "With details about each of the most popular agencies distilled into an easy-to-read report, we're aiming to help photographers make informed decisions about which agencies might be the best fit for their style of photography and ultimately save them time."

More to come, including coverage of Canon's R system announcements later today. Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
