Adobe Issues Critical Security Bulletin for Photoshop Share This on LinkedIn   Tweet This   Forward This

21 July 2020

Adobe has issued a critical security bulletin for both macOS and Windows version of Photoshop CC 2019 and 2020 today. The updates, available via the Creative Cloud app, resolve a vulnerability that "would allow malicious native-code to execute, potentially without a user being aware."

According to the bulletin:

These updates resolve multiple critical vulnerabilities. Successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user.

The company gave the update a priority rating of 3, meaning, "This update resolves vulnerabilities in a product that has historically not been a target for attackers. Adobe recommends administrators install the update at their discretion."

In addition, however, Adobe cited the severity as "critical" meaning, "A vulnerability, which, if exploited would allow malicious native-code to execute, potentially without a user being aware."

Photoshop isn't the only application affected. Updates to squelch this issue are available for a number of Creative Cloud applications this morning, including Bridge and Premiere Pro.
