In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at nature photography, phone photos at night, Joe McNally, the Peak Design Travel Tripod, Web site tips and a copyright ruling.
- Karine Aigner suggests How to Unlock Your Child's Creativity and Confidence Through Nature Photography. It's not about photography, she writes, but science. "Think of photography as an adventure that you and your child can begin together, discovering the local wildlife in your area."
- In The Trick to Getting Great Phone Photos at Night With Lightroom Mobile, Serge Ramelli shows you how to work with the Lightroom app, including the Pro tools like adjusting ISO, shooting in Raw, adjusting shutter speed and using a self-timer
- Joe McNally remembers conjuring up A Little Night Light in Peru.
- Matthew Karsten has updated his Peak Design Travel Tripod.
- Sheen Watkins offers a few ideas on How to Make Your Photography Web site Shine.
- In 2nd Circuit Clarifies Important Copyright Law, Carolyn Wright reports "registration of a compilation of photographs under 17 U.S.C. 409 by an applicant who holds the rights to the component works is valid and effectively registers the underlying individual photos, even if the compilation does not list the individual authors of the individual photos." It's the work not the author that matters, she explains.
