Mondays Aren't All Bad Share This on LinkedIn   Tweet This   Forward This

25 January 2021

We stumbled on this rosy cloud formation sitting over the Pacific Ocean this morning as the coffee was brewing. It had rained most of yesterday and into the night and an atmospheric river promises to double our total rainfall for the year between Tuesday and Thursday.

Monday. Captured with an Olympus E-PL1 and 14-42 II R at 42mm and f9, 1/125 second and ISO 200. Processed in Adobe Camera Raw.

So Monday isn't looking so bad.

The rain has been accompanied by chilly weather. At noon today it's just 50 degrees. And over the weekend Mount Hamilton and Mount Diablo were dusted with snow. Mount Tamalpais, the third peak in the Bay area, was spared.

With La Niña, which is just beginning to weaken, we have drier weather as storms are pushed into the Pacific Northwest. So we're all telling each other, "We need the rain."

But who couldn't use a sunrise like this once in a while, too?
