In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Palmyra, Ray Metzker, the basICColor Display 6 Pro, LED lights and Brad Moore.
- The Getty has launched Return to Palmyra, an online exhibit in Arabic and English celebrating the historical site in photographs and drawings.
- In New Ways of Seeing, Mee-Lai Stone presents a few abstract images by Ray Metzker. An exhibit of his intriguing work is being held at Laurence Miller Gallery in New York City until Feb. 28.
- Mark Segal reviews recent improvements to the basICColor Display 6 Pro, which he calls "the most sophisticated monitor calibration and profiling package available." But the photos accompanying the review are pretty nice all by themselves.
- Kirk Tuck explains the evolution of Ever Improving LED Lights. He doesn't miss his strobes.
- Entertainment and portrait photographer Brad Moore describes his lighting setup for Photographing Dude Perfect, a group of five guys that does "crazy sports videos."
More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
