In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Perseverance Rover, the Emerging Photography Awards, Harold Davis in red and Johnston's new mouse and keyboard.

  • Phil Plait presents the first images of and from NASA's Perseverance Rover on Mars. NASA has a few more, too.
  • Feature Shoot has announced the 13 winners of its Emerging Photography Awards.
  • In the Better Red, Harold Davis presents images in the red spectrum. Could have used that last Sunday.
  • In Mouse and Keyboard, Mike Johnston replaces his indispensable pair with new gear. We briefly tried the smaller Logitech M310 which we disliked so much we returned it (which we've never done with any product ever). After using Mom's Magic Mouse 2, we bought one of those as an alternative to our laptop's trackpad and love it. Johnston complains about the charging port location (on the bottom), but we've charged it just twice in eight months and it only takes an hour, which we are happy to spend working in the yard.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
