In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at two street photographers, five photo printers, shooting from behind, lens development and the Fujifilm GFX 100S.
- In Street Photography: Andrew Kochanowski and Don Hudson, Mike Johnston celebrates the work of two photographers who really grok the genre. "A street photograph is easy to love, if you love it," he writes.
- In If I Were to Buy a Photo Printer, Derrick Story recommends five, three from Canon and two from Epson, all inkjets. He's thinking of prints much larger than 4x6.
- Thom Hogan gives a few examples of Things You 'Can't' Shoot From Behind that, well, really you have to.
- In Five Takeaways on Lens Development From Two Key Leica Managers, Peter Karbe, head of optical development, and Stefan Janssen, product manager for lenses, reveal how Leica lenses are conceived, designed and developed.
- Reader Roy P tells Lloyd Chambers what he doesn't like and then what he likes about the Fujifilm GFX 100S. "Compared to the Olympus E-M1x and the new Sony A1 menus, the Fujifilm menu system looks like the product of a class project in a Java programming course at a community college," he begins.
