Site Note: Bing Blocked

We began the month on an ominous note. Our Internet service provider advised us that after a gigabyte of downloads the first day of the month, we were headed for a $75 surcharge.
We investigated to find the rude visitor and discovered it was Bing this time. We had no alternative but to block the bot from the site temporarily.
Bing is the only search engine (apart from a few Chinese bots) we're blocking at the moment. Google has been pretty well behaved recently.
When our stats come down to a reasonably sustainable level, we'll let the bot back in and hope it behaves in a more socially acceptable manner.
We don't run the site for bots, after all. We run it for you.
