Adobe Revamps Premiere Pro Workflow in Beta Release Share This on LinkedIn   Tweet This   Forward This

22 June 2021

Adobe has released a beta version of Premiere Pro that significantly revamps the workflow. Both import and export workflows have been redesigned and a new header bar helps to integrate different aspects of the editing workflow.

Premiere Pro is the company's flagship video editing software. As such, it can be an intimidating experience, especially for the occasional user like a professional photographer putting together a video clip of an event or an advanced amateur splicing together video of a big family occasion. But the interface can also be a handful for professional video editors and the people they work with.

Today's beta release tackles the problem head on and invites your feedback for making it a friendlier interface.

IMPORT

In this 1:16 clip, Adobe previews the new import workflow:

Adobe described the new import experience:

The new import experience in Premiere Pro (Beta) is more visual and focused on your media rather than your project settings. You can now visit multiple locations and select media from them. The workflow can be customized to your needs, but the overriding objective is to help you get your media onto the timeline faster.

The beta release "presents the basic workflow," the company added. More features and refinements will be released during the public beta.

EXPORT

In this 1:21 clip, Adobe previews the new export workflow:

Adobe described the new export experience:

The new export workflow streamlines the process of delivering completed videos by focusing on the destinations of the content. Optimized render settings for popular social platforms like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter are presented. Advanced settings are easily accessed for customizing exports.

A feedback link in the new header bar lets you tell Adobe what you think of the changes.

HEADER

In New Import & Export in Premiere Pro (Beta), the company details the changes in the beta release, including the new header bar.

The company described the new header bar:

The current project name is displayed in the center of the header bar. In the Edit mode, task-specific editing workspaces are accessible via a dropdown as well as Quick Export, System Compatibility Report, what's new in the latest build and a link for providing feedback on the Beta.

The header bar won't be limited to Premiere Pro. The design will appear in all Creative Cloud applications "to help users orient themselves more easily within different creative workflows."

AVAILABILITY

You can install Premiere Pro (Beta) from the Beta apps tab in Creative Cloud Desktop.
