In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at the Indian Ocean, Andy Anderson, soft light and buying advice.
- Viewing Earth From the Space Station shows the Indian Ocean as the International Space Station orbited 269 miles above south of western Australia earlier this month. The station orbits the Earth about every 90 minutes at a speed of more than 17,000 miles per hour./li>
- Suzanne Sease features the personal project of Andy Anderson titled My Town. "I have lived in a small Idaho town for almost 30 years, it's a town full of wonderful authentic hard-working folk," he says.
- Kirk Tuck cites Leonardo da Vinci as his inspiration for using Big Soft Sources. Soft light indeed but don't forget the big. Leonardo covered a courtyard with white cloth, Tuck writes.
- In A Bit of Buying Advice, Thom Hogan suggests you don't procrastinate because supplies are constricted. Indeed, we went out to buy rechargeable AAAs yesterday and the shelves were empty at six stores.
More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
