In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at street photography, Mariachi portraits, a music photographer and nightscape photography.
- LensCulture has published the winners of its 2021 Street Photography Awards. "This year's competition brought us hundreds of entries, revealing the hustle and bustle of daily life proceeding as it once did, but in new, often socially-distanced spaces."
- Suzanne Sease features the personal project of Shaun Fenn, which is "a series around the wonder of the Mariachi tradition."
- In My Life as a Music Photographer in a Nutshell, Alfred Tanuwidjaja describes what it's like to "have the stage lights at your aid, musicians running around and people dancing all over."
- In the LensRentals podcast, Matthew Saville discusses Nightscape Photography, night landscaped with starry skies. "Optically it's one of the most demanding types of photography imaginable," the introductory notes claim.
