In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at 6Mois Awards, Sara Cwynar, the Canon mirrorless platform, Instagrammable locations, environmental photography and the Notch.

  • The Guardian presents the winners and finalists of the 6Mois Award for Photojournalism. The biannual photojournalism review received 177 applications from 40 countries for its €10,000 award.
  • Joanna Cresswell reviews Glass Life by Sara Cwynar, a new photobook "best described as a frenetic, visual helter-skelter through consumer-driven image culture, its multilayered, saturated images arrive to the eye in short, intense bursts."
  • Zach Sutton takes A Look at the Progression of the Canon Mirrorless Platform during the third anniversary of the R system's introduction.
  • Dave Williams takes on one of a number of Instagrammable Locations, locations made famous by hitting the Explore section of Instagram. "Instagram and other such influences have made otherwise out-of-the-way, tranquil locations become very popular.," he writes.
  • In What Is Environmental Photography, Dahlia Ambrose discusses any photograph that "describes an environment, its happenings, scenes in and around it."
  • Howard Oakley muses on the M1 Pro, M1 Max, the Notch and Monterey, including a new Get Info option for dealing with the notch.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
