Boinx Software has released Fotomagico 6, its slide show creation software, completely rewritten for both macOS and iOS on the iPad. Projects can be stored on your iCloud drive to access them on either your Mac or your iPad.

New presets make it easier to create vertical Instagram Stories or 4k horizontal slide shows. FotoMagico 6 also includes a set of add-ons for music, titles, frames and guides for visual storytelling.

The new FotoMagico also includes more features tailored for the photographer. A new Map Assistant lets you animate travel routes and a new set of visual effects can be added to images, videos and layers. The included Music Packs contain royalty-free music prepared with FotoMagico Beat Markers for easy transitions to the rhythm of the music.

An improved user interface allows faster exports of slide show projects. The code rewrite was done in Swift, SwiftUI and Metal, basing FotoMagico 6 on the most advanced Apple technology and "ready to run on the new Apple Silicon M1 processor family," the company said.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

System requirements for the new version include:

  • Apple Silicon (M1) or 2-Ghz 64-bit Intel CPU
  • macOS 10.15.2 or later (11.6 recommended)
  • 4-GB RAM (8-GB recommended)
  • 512-MB VRAM graphics card
  • SSD hard drive
