In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Jennifer Esseiva, Roy Barbee, budget macro lenses, Onyi Moss, Kirk Tuck and amp glow.

  • In A Hazy Stream, Grace Ebert features the long-exposure landscapes of Swiss photographer Jennifer Esseiva, who took them in the remote forests of Vallorbe, Switzerland. "There she captured the lush mosses and foliage that cloaked the area in a thick blanket of greenery and the recently thawed stream flowing through its midst," she writes.
  • In The Joy Is in Capturing the Journey, Roy Barbee takes the "short step between the extroverted street sport scene and the observational appreciation of the photographic moment." He started on the other side of the lens and became fascinated by all the gear.
  • Chris Gampat lists Three Budget Macro Lenses for the Frugal Photographer from Tamron, Canon and Nikon with five tips on using them. More frugal photographers might just invest in a reversing ring for a lens they already have.
  • Onyi Moss shows how to create a A Vintage Vibe for any photo using Photoshop's Camera Raw filter. There's a nice demo of using the Curves panel. You can download the .xmp file she created to apply the look to your own images.
  • Kirk Tuck reports on Wednesday's Photography Job shooting 1,600 frames with one camera, one lens, one light and one assistant (his friend Amy).
  • Jim Kasson investigates a case of Amp Glow in Fujifilm GFX 50S Mark I and II. "I don't think this is much of anything to worry about, but there could be some situations where it might be a problem," he writes.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
