In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Anna Cabrera and Angel Albarrán, Fabrice Monteiro, D. Randall Blythe, Ola Cholewa, NDAs and high-end configurations.
- In the Mood for Beauty presents a seven-minute video interview accompanying the images of Anna Cabrera and Angel Albarrán, who have been working together for over 17 years in Barcelona.
- A Spirit Emerges From a Rubbish Dump in Senegal is Fabrice Monteiro's best photograph. "I decided I wanted to shoot a series to raise awareness of environmental issues in Senegal, in the hope that people would realise that things do not have to be this way," he says in an interview with Edward Siddons.
- In On Tour With D. Randall Blythe, the vocalist and songwriter talks about his love of photography. "hooting exclusively monochrome images pushed me to look for more areas of high contrast light and shadow, thus making the subject matter stand out more," he says.
- Heidi Volpe interviews Ola Cholewa about Fairy Creek, unceded territory of the Pacheedaht and Dididaht First Nation People under environmental threat by industry. "I witnessed people chaining themselves into the land to block industry from accessing land deemed to be clear-cut, impeding industries perpetuation of the destruction of ancient eco-systems," she says.
- Kirk Tuck takes on the gratuitous use of Non-Disclosure Agreements. Ever get the feeling there are a lot of people who don't know why they're doing what they're doing?
- Lloyd Chambers has some very high-end Computing Suggestions for photographers and videographers.
