In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at 2021, the Faroe Islands, holding a camera, silliness, resolutions and Shutterfly.
- Mark Murrmann has A Look Back at 2021 in Photos, if You Can Bear It. The last image by Liam Kennedy of a damaged movie theater seems to appear on every list this year, which would make it the de facto photo of the year.
- Grace Ebert showcases The Magical Fairytale-Like Landscapes of the Faroe Islands shot by Lazar Gintchin who compares them to the dreamy, otherworldly environments of Middle Earth.
- Kirk Tuck has a few thoughts on Holding a Small Camera, resuming workouts after sitting at the holiday table and staying in the game.
- Derrick Story indulges in some Photo Silliness During the Holidays. One of his snapshots was a thank you photo, which is always a fun way to acknowledge a gift. No words needed either.
- Dave Williams strategies over Photographic Resolutions before divining one he thinks he can keep. "My New Years Resolution this year is to start putting the lens cap on my lenses!" he enthuses.
- Lawrence Abrams reports Shutterfly Services Disrupted by Conti Ransomware Attack which "encrypted thousands of devices and stole corporate data." The Shutterfly.com, Snapfish, TinyPrints and Spoonflower sites were not affected by the attack but the corporate network, Lifetouch, BorrowLeneses and Groovebook suffered disruptions.
More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
