In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at nature, the pandemic, the Fujifilm 35-70mm and the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III.
- The Guardian presents the winners of the Nature Photographer of the Year 2021 contest by Nature Talks. Terje Kolaas from Norway was the overall winner with an image or winter bird migration in Norway.
- Guardian and Observer photographers present their Best Pandemic Shot of 2021 and it's an impressive album of wide-ranging subjects, all affected by Covid-19.
- Responding to rumors otherwise, Jim Kasson does a test finding No Front Focusing on Fujifilm 35-70mm GF on GFX 100S. "I'm guessing some of the early 35-70mm lenses had the problem and that Fuji has fixed it," he writes.
- Canon rumors confirms The Canon EOS-1D X Mark III Will Be Canon's Last dSLR. ""It is natural that mirrorless cameras will become the mainstream of digital cameras," Canon Chairman and CEO Fujio Mitarai said in an interview with Yomiuri Shimbun. "The market needs are acceleratingly shifting to mirrorless cameras."
